On 26 November 2021 , Panasonic, a Japanese technology giant confirmed that it had been the victim of a cyber attack on November 11.

Reportedly attackers accessed Panasonic’s data stored on a file server. The company says that immediately after detecting the attack, the company immediately reported the incident to the relevant authorities and implemented security countermeasures, including steps to prevent external access to the network.

As an additional step to conducting its investigation, Panasonic is also working with a specialist organization for investigating the leak and identifying whether the breach involved customers’ personal information and/or sensitive information related to social infrastructure.

As per official statement  Panasonic did not notice the attack until November 11, however as per a Tech Crunch report the company official has in a statement  said that the breach began on June 22 and ended on November 3. NHK also revealed that the server had breached stored information about the company’s partner and its technology.
